The iconic brand deeply rooted in the heritage of its founder, Erno Laszlo, a doctor who - as it's said - created his eponymous skincare line after curing a Hungarian princess's acne in his native Hungary. In 1938, he came to New York City and opened his first New York Institute on Fifth Avenue as a members-only club with a month-long waiting list for appointments. He worked on faces as glamorous as Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Onassis and was one of the first skincare experts to give women personalized beauty routines featuring the introduction of the signature "double cleanse," a cleansing oil treatment followed by a cleansing bar. Dr. Laszlo passed away in 1973, but his legacy lives on through devoted clients, some of whom still have their original Laszlo prescriptions. 91 years later, the brand continues to innovate with product launches, global roll-outs, and a new retail program.
